As a Chief Information Systems Officer at the UN, I had variety of teams and responsibilities over the years, which involved extensive travel to Africa, Europe and Asia. Some of the highlights are:-Managed the enterprise-wide API management system which enabled the publishing and subscribing to APIs.-Developed integration APIs for service mgmt, automation, human resources, document mgmt, access pass mgmt, identity mgmt, MDM, among others.-Enhanced IT security through the adoption of Azure AD for authentication Secretariat wide. This involved a complex project to migrate accounts, application authentication and related objects, from Oracle OAM/OAAM to Azure AD.-Responsible for the Siebel service management system used across the UN Secretariat and peacekeeping missions to enable local and global IT and business service desks. -Implemented a system for military contingents in locations such as Liberia, DRC, Sudan and others to track their equipment for financial reimbursement.-Chaired and participated in working groups for various topics such as knowledge management, identity management, API management, data strategy, enterprise architecture, among others.-Enabled tools for the UN Operations Crisis Centre which enables information sharing to senior leaders across the UN system for informed, timely and coordinated decision-making and strategic engagement on UN field operations and crisis-related issues.-Developed a “Smart Office” system for managing and tracking documents in the Secretary-General’s office.-Prepared strategy documents such as knowledge management, enterprise architecture and API management.-Implemented and named the first global Intranet, iSeek, used across the UN Secretariat for internal communications-All these initiatives involved managing the work of my department, budgeting, analyzing assignments, prioritizing them and developing plans to deliver them for various departments and all Secretariat and peacekeeping field mission locations

I was responsible for e-business B2B vision and application development, ERP, package implementations and their administration for a global Japanese semiconductor production equipment manufacturer. My responsibilities required me to travel to Japan regularly and to work on a daily basis with the staff in Austin, and in Japan, coordinating, analyzing and developing information technology solutions for the company-Conceived and implemented e-business strategies by working with various stakeholders to implement RosettNet standards for B2B/system-to-system integration using XML based web services for order processing and invoicing.-Participated in RosettaNet standards development. President of the Texas RosettaNet Users Group (TRUG). -Designed systems using use case documents, sequence diagrams, flow charts and prototypes. -Developed and administered a web based workflow approval system utilizing Visual Basic, COM+, ASP, XML, SOAP, MS SQL Server and MS Biztalk. -Implemented a web based electronic procurement system. -Administered and customized our ERP system with the modules of Finance, Distribution and Service. -Implemented i2`s Trade Matrix Service Parts Planner. Architected the interface between our ERP system and i2. i2 optimized the supply chain by forecasting demand, replenishment and inventory stocking levels. -Developed a Data Warehouse for analyzing cost and revenue information using the OLAP tools.-Developed intranet applications using Lotus Domino and Active Server Pages. -Implemented EDI with customers using the messages 850, 860 and 810. -Implemented HR management software. -Managed the Oracle Database Administrators. -Developed standards, policies and procedures. -Coordinated annual IT external audit activities-Provided application help desk support.

I worked for the Lt. Governor, Senators and their staff. My department supported the Lt. Governor of Texas, Bob Bullock, and associated Senate offices. The Lt. Governor of Texas is the second-highest executive office in the government of Texas and is the President of the Senate and manages the legislative process for the Senate through the application of parliamentary procedures. Supporting political offices required us to be tactful, task oriented, hard working and flexible. We provided workstation and network support, application development, systems support, help desk and training. Responsible for budgeting and staff supervision.-Developed a system for document management integrating imaging technology, using Windows NT and optical storage, tied to a constituent tracking system. -Created an intranet for the office for sharing documents and for using form based systems built with Lotus Notes/Domino. -Developed a system for tracking legislative analysis information. -Developed Lotus Notes/Domino systems for tracking Senate research requests and help desk support calls. -Developed a system improving business processes through the integration of Lotus Notes/Domino with imaging technology for tracking correspondence. -Trained the staff in Microsoft Office, GroupWise, Lotus Notes/Domino, and other commercial applications in addition to in-house developed applications. -Managed Windows NT, NetWare, OS/2 and Macintosh servers for the office.

I was responsible for library computer systems and workstations at the United Nations Vienna International Center.-Coordinated the conversion of the library from a mainframe system to an integrated LAN based library automation system,Dynix, utilizing PCs accessing a UNIX server running a PICK based library system. -Administered Novell, UNIX and LAN Manager servers, staff workstations and the network infrastructure. -Developed Visual Basic and MS Access Applications. -Served as Library liaison with other organizations at the UN center. -Established Internet access in the library.
