 Direct and lead the Operations Team in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of 220MW, 12,500KPa, 541oC Boiler-Turbine-Generator unit.  Oversee hydro-static test of boiler drum and water wall tubes, primary and secondary super-heaters and re-heater tubes as may be required. Ensuring availability of all unit auxiliary equipment through compliance with standard operationg procedures, comprehensive local checks and prompt logging of all faults in CMMS. Ensuring the operation team complies with all LOTO procedures in order to ensure both personnel and equipment safety during maintenance activities.

 Evaluation of all maintenance job card/daily job hazard analysis in order to determine, prepare and issue an appropriate work permit(safety document) to maintenance/operation personnel Ensuring proper and complete start-up sequence and shutdown of 30MW capacity MS6001B (Frame 6) gas turbines of IUKA, John Brown and Alsthom types. Ensuring proper working of turbine auxiliary equipment for overall unit reliability. Use of event trend to monitor and analyse critical plant parameters such as vibration, exhaust temperature e.t.c. Taking and keeping records of operational data such as temperature, vibration, running hour, pressure and fluid levels from meters, gauges and automatic devices for verifying and evaluating operating conditions Ensuring smooth and timely synchronization of gas turbine driven generators to 132KV electricity grid. Observing, recording and evaluating data; maintaining and reviewing operational and maintenance reporting logs.  Keeping central control room team and management fully informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations when not operating from the central control room. Visually inspecting and listening to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication. Reading blueprints and using facility operating procedures, equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair facility equipment and ensure equipment is operated within operating range; supporting the use of computerize maintenance system (mms), in line with facility maintenance philosophy. Maintaining a system of work order forms raise on jobs.
