Oracle Database Administrator
-Designing, Installation, and Configuration of RDBMS such as Oracle Databases on various platforms.-Reviewing functional requirements documents to ensure the databases are implemented in accordance with the clients' needs.-Carrying out database components upgrades and applying patches as at when necessary.-Ensuring High Availability of the database by implementing solutions such as OracleData Guard or Clusterware Deployment to ensure little or no downtime for client databases.-Ensuring that adequate backup and recovery strategies are put in place to protect and recover the database against data loss or corruption events.-Conducting pro-active database maintenance activities periodically for client databases to figure out potential bottlenecks at early stages and sort them out.-Staying up to date on the latest database technology advancements/security features and advising clients accordingly.-Conducting and Monitoring user acceptance testing closely with the client’s IT teams to ensure that proper implementation was carried out.-Monitoring and tuning the Database using AWR/ASH reports and IDE performance monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager in order to optimize the database and improve query response time to the end-users.-Implementing security and audit policies for clients to ensure the safety of the databases and compliance with the regulatory bodies' requirements.-Develop, document, and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards.-Ensuring that data is being accessed by the appropriate person(s) at client sites by developing access rules using roles and privileges.-Using SQL and PL/SQL to develop functions, triggers, and procedures which are used for data analysis and process simplification on Oracle Database.
