- Lead the team in the field of Biodiversity and Climate Change at the Competence Center (CC) of WASCAL in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso;- Develop and implement a Biodiversity and Climate Change program for West Africa that integrates the expertise offered by the WASCAL research consortium in Germany and the regional biodiversity research programs;- Manage a small team of scientists in conducting research on the impact of climate change on (agro) biodiversity and developing models that will allow predictions of the impact of climate change on (functional) biodiversity;- Contributes to the overall climate change scenario analysis of WASCAL and the trade-off analysis and policy advice on sustainable land use;- Contribute to the teaching in the Graduate School on Climate Change and Biodiversity at the Université Felix Houphouet Boigny, Côte d’Ivoire.

My main mission at this position is to plan the activities of the entire ministry and to ensure the reinforcement of relationships between the ministry and its partners.My specific duties include:-planning of majors activities of the ministry and monitoring of their implementation;-collection, processing and publication of statistics on scientific research and innovations ;-examination of relevance and coherence of projects proposals to be submitted to technical and financial partners of the ministry ;-monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes under the ministry ;-contribution to funds raising through technically preparation of the elaboration and negotiation of the ministry projects and programmes ;-serving as an interface between the ministry and all its technical and financial partners ;-realisation of analytic and prospective studies necessary to enhance the dynamism of the ministry.

As head of the Applied Research Division, my main responsabilities include coordination and participation to the conception and implementation of research projects and programmes on natural resources conservation and sustainable use. These projects are foccused on the adaptation of local species to the different agroclimatic zones and to climat changes on one hand and on the improvement of the utilisation of local species in reforestation and agro-forestry programmes on other hand. We are dealing also with issues such as degraded lands restoration, combat against desertification, genetic improvement of local forest species and increase of availability of forages for animal nutrition. As coordinator of the Millennium Seed Bank Project in Burkina Faso, my duties consist to:-prepare the annual working plan and budget of the project at CNSF,-supervise the implementation of the adopted annual plan at both technical and financial levels,-elaborate milestones, intermediary and annual reports of the project,-manage administratively the 7 staff members of the project at CNSF.The project is funded by the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew in the UK and has partners all over the world who contribute to its implementation. The over all aim of the project is to safeguard seeds and herbarium specimens of at least 10% of world land and marine species.

At this position, I was particularly in charge of the aspect "Conservation of tree seeds in ruralcommunities". Within this study, we have done an inventory of traditional methods andtechniques for grains storage in about 20 provinces in Burkina Faso. In total 19 local seedsproducers committees have been set up and their capacities built in seeds harvesting andconservation good practices. Finally, the different traditionally methods and the associatedknowledge and knowhow have been used to set up seeds conservation trials in rural areas in aparticipatory manner with rural communities.
