OBR is expanding its presence into the heart of the world’s largest biotech hub by launching a Boston chapter in Spring 2014. Massachusetts is home to a biotechnology supercluster that boasts more than 550 biotech/biopharma companies, 122 colleges and universities, and the top five NIH-funded hospitals in the nation. It also has some of the most successful lab incubators and accelerators in the world, helping startups stay well-connected to the booming biotech ecosystem. OBR has already fostered many strong partnerships with industry and academic organizations in Boston. It is our hope that we can capitalize on these relationships, build new ones, and ultimately cultivate an environment for open communication and advancement of new scientific ideas between academics and industry professionals.
