About Oscar Callejas

In 2008, I co-founded Voalte -- a first of its kind smartphone-based mobile communications company for healthcare. Voalte was a pioneer in many areas. We were the first to deploy smartphones in the enterprise at scale — long before the tools that make it easy to do so today existed. We accomplished this through a combination of innovative tools, methods, and a radically engaging service model that earned recognition throughout the industry. In 2019, Hillrom acquired Voalte to lead its connected care strategy. At Hillrom, we expanded our digital health strategy, extending our customer reach and nearly doubling the business before selling Hillrom to Baxter in 2021. At that point, any reasonable person would have taken a break, but the challenges in healthcare are too great. I decided to join Olive AI, shifting my focus from clinical solutions to revenue cycle management and business process automation.Olive had lofty ambitions and while it may have failed, it had the right vision. Out of its ashes I had the opportunity to help relaunch its prior authorization business as Humata Health. At Humata we are solving the pain of prior authorization by bringing together providers, payers, and patients. As an entrepreneur, I've been fortunate enough to have had a wide range of experiences—from professional services and customer support, to product management, operations management, and finance—across various industries and stages of company lifecycle. This has given me the opportunity to gain deep knowledge (and perspective) in multiple aspects of business.I am a thinker and a dreamer… More than anything, I love to imagine the impossible, and then build it!Specialties: technology startups (particularly focused on Health IT / tech health / digital health), operations management, project management (PMBOK), project portfolio management (PPM / PSA), professional services, customer service, customer support, ITIL, process mapping and design, product management (pragmatic marketing, scaled agile framework), product launch (NPD), go-to-market planning, Net Promoter Score (NPS), financial model design, financial planning and analysis (FPA), Quote to Cash (QTC), strategic planning, M&A, Due Diligence

  • Voalte
    Co-Founder & Vp Of Operations
    Voalte Oct 2008 - Apr 2019
    Sarasota, Fl, Us
This was a role that evolved extensively as the Company grew and matured, exposing me to virtually every part of the business. From 2008 - 2014 I managed our professional services and support team, growing it from zero employees to over 50. Under my leadership, Voalte was the first healthcare company to develop an enterprise deployment model for smartphones at scale. Today, Voalte has more smartphones deployed in hospitals than any other health IT company. As we grew to over 100 customers, we also built a one-of-a-kind customer-centric support organization that generated some of the highest customer engagement and retention scores in the industry. In 2014, I took over our Product Management and Strategic Alliances group in anticipation of launching our next generation product, Voalte Platform. This required us to re-imagine our approach to new product development as we trained the entire Company (over 120 employees) on the new product, worked with partners (OEM and strategic) to support it, and deployed to all of our existing customers.Following the success of Voalte Platform and a fiscal year that saw record growth, my focus shifted in early 2016 to internal operations. In that role, I managed the team responsible for developing our multi-year strategic plan, which included the tactical implementation and execution strategy. In 2019, Hillrom acquired Voalte and I continued our mission by leading the services org of the newly formed business unit.
  • Driftwood Hospitality Management
    Rooms Division Manager
Driftwood Hospitality Management Jun 2007 - Nov 2008
    North Palm Beach, Fl, Us
I was responsible for all Rooms-Division operations during the purchase, renovation, and conversion of a 120 room hotel from Ramada Limited to Hotel Indigo. This was the first Hotel Indigo in Miami and was quite a challenge, as the hotel remained open and flagged throughout the entire renovation (including complete room and lobby demolition / renovation, construction of a restaurant, gym, and meeting rooms) which occurred during high season.Nearing the end of the renovation, I worked closely with the GM and Director of Sales to completely build our sales pipeline from scratch. This included acquiring LNR business, group business, and wholesalers. We also designed a complete revenue management strategy for Transient, TPI, and overall GDS business in close collaboration with Intercontinental Hotels Group. At the same time, I led the team responsible for hiring and training all new employees. The work resulted in a sold-out hotel on opening day, service scores in the top 10 during the first quarter, and GOP that was 110% to goal.
  • Oceanside Resorts
    Assistant General Manager
    Oceanside Resorts Jan 2005 - Jun 2006
I initially joined Oceanside as an Assistant Front Office Manager for a 355-bed beach resort on South Beach which was converted to a W hotel and residences. Within my first three months my team raised Service scores into the 95th percentile of our comp set. When the company acquired a small, Art Deco boutique hotel in South Beach, I was chosen to oversee operations while we put together a multi-million dollar renovation plan to convert to a Kimpton hotel. This was particularly challenging, as the hotel was considered an Art Deco landmark.

Generated cruise sales for the company while establishing, developing, and maintaining a relationship with Carnival’s past, present, and future guests.
  • Mayfair House Hotel
    Night Manager
Mayfair House Hotel Jan 2001 - Jun 2004
I joined the Mayfair as a Front Desk Agent while still in college. This quickly escalated into a full-time job that saw me promoted to Night Manager balancing almost 60 hour work weeks with a full-time college course load.At the Mayfair, our team took service scores to a 10 year high and earned 4 Star, 4 Diamond awards every single year. Tactically, I worked with departments to redesign various systems / processes: night audit, front desk check-in / check-out, shift change, Manager on Duty (MOD) to name a few.
