    The Challenge is a provider of the NCS programme which is a government-backed and funded programme established in 2011 to help build a more cohesive, mobile and engaged society. By bringing together young people from different backgrounds for a unique shared experience, NCS helps them to become better individuals and, in turn, better citizens with a greater sense of purpose, optimism and belonging.As Programme Manager, I supported the team responsible for the setup and delivery of the NCS programme across Surrey, creating meaningful results through influencing people and teams to achieve success. Key highlights in this role: - Co-ordinated and hosted the Graduation ceremony for the Surrey region, presenting to 800 young people and their parents- Project-managed the development of nationally-distributed operation manuals and resources- Supported the Assistant Programme Manager team to build and maintain relationships with external charity partners- Liaised with key teams across the organisation to reconcile resources and equipment and designed an efficient supplies process- Reviewed and improved the seasonal staff onboarding process

    During the final phase of their NCS journey (a summer programme for 15-17 year olds), teams of young people work with a local charity partner to create a social action campaign, which involves designing and delivering a sponsorship and campaign event and a volunteer day. As Social Action Manager I was the most senior member of staff on the ground of the programme, where I was responsible for directing the logistical, pastoral and administrative functions of the programme and managing a staff team of 10. Key highlights in this role: - Inspired and motivated teams and their mentors (seasonal staff) to create positive change in their local community, raising a total of £33,000 for local charities- Empowered seasonal staff to develop and grow as leaders, through effective feedback and direction- Supported young people and staff with additional support needs thus creating an inclusive programme- Successfully delivered curriculum in an engaging way through lectures, workshops and group sessions in topics centred around social action and project management skills- Reconciled sponsorship money and petty cash

    Owning the administration function for the sales team, providing support to the Accounts Managers and Sales Associates through creating an ecosystem for leads to be converted into sales. I saw the role evolve into an all-encompassing production of yearly reports used by external stakeholders, generation of sophisticated documentation for a variety of key internal functions, and also the co-ordination of resources and documents for daily sales events. I loved having the opportunity to create streamlined operational processes, for both the wider teams and the Sales Administrator role and also having the opportunity to support the sales team with sales-based tasks, including calling leads and attending sales events.

I loved seeing the potential this role could have within the Programmes team, and was honoured to work with the Senior Programme Manager to further develop and establish the role within the Programmes team, which created an impact on a local and global level.
