I had to coordinate the testing effort across a number of different business areas of the client. I had a team of 6 resources reporting directly to me.

The 2 programs of work consisted of about 8 individual projects and sub projects. I had to coordinate the testing effort across all of these projects. The data had to be converted from the NBS (a retail bank that Nedbank merged with) mainframe onto the Nedbank platform. This included the… Show more Fulfilling multiple roles within this larger commercial bank.As Project Manager :Our team was tasked to develop an end to end solution to convert clients, with their associated products, from one platform to another. The data had to be converted from the NBS (a retail bank that Nedbank merged with) mainframe onto the Nedbank platform. In addition to the above I also played a role to get accreditation of a CMMI level 2 companies for our department. This included the creation/revision of processes to be followed in our area. My project was also audited as one of the projects for level 2 accreditation. We managed to design, develop and implement and test an excellent solution that was implemented into production in March/April 2004. This also includes the end to end testing of the solution including the management of the execution of the test plan. We migrated half a million clients successfully onto the Nedbank platform. I also needed to coordinate and manage the efforts of all parties involved over the weekends when we were doing the conversions. Furthermore I had to attend project meetings to negotiate priorities and deadlines etc.The team I had to manage was diverse as some resources where on site, some in other cities in South Africa and some offshore. Team Manager Application Development and Support team :My team were responsible for the 24/7 support of various business critical systems for the bank. These include a PIN verification system called RACAL, send and receive CICS routines, and the banks electronic reporting system. Smaller applications like a time capturing system as well as a problem logging system are also supported. Furthermore we supported the Rational toolset that we have rolled out in the bank. Some team members were not on site and I had to manage them remotely.As Team manager I was also responsible for managing all the testing activities when we upgraded or maintained our applications.
