On a daily basis, I use the Wordpress Content Management System to upload written and visual content to TheJournal.ie.

Maxmedia is a market leading content creation firm. As copywriter, my tasks included the maintenance and creation of social media schedules for Ireland Family History (383k followers on Facebook) and Bord Iascaigh Mhara (1580 followers). Working on behalf of these clients also involves liaising with third parties for content and setting up paid social media campaigns. I developed new content ideas weekly, and saw them through until publishing stage. I also updated the Ireland.com website as the company saw fit e.g. fixing errors and removing expired content across the dozen Ireland.com sites.

Trinity College, Dublin

As Editor, I was responsible for the creation of Trinity Miscellany magazine, Trinity College's oldest publication. As Editor in Chief, I was directly responsible for content creation, general administration, social media promotion of the magazine, direction of other staff members and ensuring the magazine is adequately funded. I took Miscellany in a fresh direction that was commended by the Trinity Publications Society: you can take a look at our issues below.

Work at Claire's is work in a fast-paced environment that demands excellence from its staff. As a Sales Assistant, I was responsible for providing top-quality customer service as well as ensuring an immaculate and well-presented shop floor, restocking as needed, and visually merchandising selected areas. Imaginative responses to customers are expected in order to meet daily, weekly and yearly KPIs. Awarded “Employee of the Week” twice in my short time as a team member.

This position required me to be flexible and adaptable; occupied various positions on a weekly basis. Worked in teaching English as a Foreign Language, baking, creative writing and filmmaking areas of the camp as well as in general supervision. An active practioner of conflict resolution between young children, and also engage with any issues parents had with the running of the camp. This role also required liaising and engaging with parents and taking responsibility for the learning and wellbeing of children aged between three and twelve.

Five articles per week; engagement with up to 50,000 students on Ireland’s leading student website. Produced my own high quality content in areas such as lifestyle, news and entertainment, as well as ensuring any contributions were appropriate, grammatically correct and engaging for the reader. Took part in three days of paid work at the Irish Independent, researching and writing articles that were drawn largely from press releases. Eventual winner of the INM (Irish News and Media) student internship for 2015.

Centra Fairview was my introduction to the fast paced world of retail: it was and continues to be one of Dublin's most profitable grocery stores. My responsibilities in this store included include customer service and advice to ensure an excellent retail experience. I was in charge of ensuring a clean, well-presented and well stocked shop floor and I also assisted with visual merchandising and cashing up at the end of the day.

In this role, I acted as an academic instructor to a small group of students between the ages of nine and twelve, and later a Teaching Assistant to a group of students between the ages of thirteen and seventeen.As instructor, I was wholly responsible for class planning, instructing and classroom management. As a Teaching Assistant, my job was to work with the instructor to create a positive and productive learning environment, as well as attend to students' individual needs. My roles in CTYI sharpened my time management, organisation and interpersonal skills as well as giving me confidence in often stressful situations.
