As a laboratory technician, my main responsibility was to perform diagnostic routines in the clinical microbiology laboratory from handling clinical samples, identification of microorganisms, and reporting the result to the respective hospital unit. Laboratory techniques: swab sample collection (inguinal, nasopharyngeal, and axilla), gram staining, bacterial and fungal culture, identification of tuberculosis through microscopic analysis and cartridge-based RT-qPCR (Xpert® MTB/RIF), bacterial identification using VITEK-2 system.
