I am the chief of anesthesia and critical care medicine at Akureyri hospital in Iceland. I did my anesthesia residency at the University of Rochester, Rochester NY. I'm interested in quality improvement in healthcare and serve as chairman of the hosptial´s quality committee. I'm was very much involved in getting Akureyri Hospital internationally accredited and ISO 9001:2015 certified by DNV GL. I have started my LEAN journey by completing the "Lean Skills Collaberative" hosted by the Virginia Mason Institute. I'm active and certified as an instructor in adult (ALS) and pediatric (EPLS) resuscitation by the European Resuscitation Council. I teach teamwork and communications skills through simulation and I have completed "Train the Trainer" (a simulation training course) hosted by Stavanger University's SAFER institute.
