I take the motto "Work hard, play hard" seriously. It has been an ongoing theme throughout my adult work life as an 20+ year seasoned event manager, producer, and luxury travel expert. Work/life experience has taught me:- To take risks and have grand bold ideas- Be calm under pressure- To strive for excellence- To learn from mistakes After 9 years in the film and event industry in Iceland, I received an offer from CCP Games and my life was forever changed. I was pleasantly surprised that CCP held my motto in high regard, so I hit the ground running when I joined them in early 2009, taking over EVE Fanfest, one of Iceland's largest events and a game industry favourite. As their Lead Event Manager, I helped CCP Games evolve EVE Fanfest to be the success it is today. PC Gamer scored the event as a 10/10, beating events like Blizzcon (8/10) and SOE Live (8/10). Under my supervision, Fanfest doubled in attendance and every aspect of the event received significant improvements. At the same time, I also managed every other event for CCP (Gamescom, E3, PAX, Igromir, Eurogamer, corporate events and parties).After traversing the globe for 8 years managing large scale events in the games industry all over Europe (from Iceland to Russia) and the US, I decided to move back home to Iceland to be closer to family and work for Truenorth, the leading production service and event company in Iceland.For Truenorth, I have managed some of Iceland’s largest events and taken care of celebrities and luxury clients during their travels in Iceland and Greenland. I am bound by confidentiality to discuss these further.Every year since 2014 I have also been the Event Director for Iceland’s largest annual conference and the largest gathering on the Arctic in the world, hosted by H.E. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson. I was hired to help evolve and grow the Arctic Circle from the ground up to become the success it is today.Arctic Circle has had many distinguished hi-profile guests such as:- President of France, François Hollande- Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations- President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö- Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden- John Kerry, former US Secretary of State- Business leaders such as Laurene Powell Jobs, founder of Emerson Collective and Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google- As well as countless Prime Ministers, Governors, and Mayors from all over the worldRecently I joined CCP Games again as their Event Manager but alas, due to Covid, the position was eliminated and so I am seeking new opportunities.
