 In this supervisory role, I oversaw and managed production and operations at the Delta, BC and Ferndale, WA facilities, assuming full responsibility for QA/QC, AOP, P&L, inventory management, forecasting, budgeting, and adherence to the organizational business plan and mission statement. Throughout my tenure with Valmont, I demonstrated a keen understanding of cost control and Lean Manufacturing concepts. I maximized gross margin opportunities and cost reduction by increasing China sourcing by 50%; I renegotiated freight terms with our primary supplier in China, resulting in an 8% reduction in transportation cost; Working side by side with the sales team and manufacturing associates, we established process improvements which led to a boost in Perfect Order Fulfillment rate from 65% to 98%.

 I developed and directed business operations and a strategic marketing plan for a start-up franchise location of a retail provider of premium chocolates and confections. Through diligence and dedication to exemplary customer service, this new business achieved profitability within eight months of open.

Barcelona, Venezuela

 I directed and assumed full P&L responsibility for a start-up manufacturer, overseeing the company’s rapid growth and development during my tenure into the supplier of 95% of car seats for a Mitsubishi and Hyundai subsidiary. I prepared annual production and capacity plans based on forecasting and market research, set pricing, exercised cost controls, and oversaw systems integration. To better control the manufacturing process, I implemented SPC techniques, driving the product rejection rate from 14% to less than 0.3%, earning an A+ supplier rating and authorization to deliver directly to the customer assembly line. This operation attained all annual budget and revenue targets despite an extremely challenging political and economic climate.

 As the Supply Chain Manager in charge of six design engineers, three purchasing agents, and an assistant, I oversaw the contract management process, directed the supplier certification program, and supervised all phases of supplier/manufacturing operations. We were proud to continuously satisfy quality and scope requirements, on time and on budget, enabling 40 successful new vehicle launches.
