I had previously founded the local Sun User Group in Norway and then was elected to the international group as a board member and a European representative.

As founder of this Norwegian software start-up, developed concept and architecture for a set of software development tools for Modula-2, a systems programming language popular in Europe at the time. Wrote business plan, obtained two rounds of funding. Served on ISO standards committee for Modula-2, and as European representative on the board of the Sun.

Introduced modern software engineering techniques into a process control/embedded systems environment. Helped select Modula-2 as programming language, and worked with compiler vendor as part of a beta test program. Designed and implemented user interfaces, drivers, schedulers, operating system interfaces.
