AMLI has been in the process of upgrading its data infrastructure, and I have been instrumental in modernizing its data warehouse ETL. This was a part-time position for a small web development company, started shortly after returning to the Chicago area. For this position, I contributed bug fixes and additional features to clients’ ASP.NET-based websites, along with their SQL Server back ends. Aspect provides software to run customer service call centers, and I focused on the Performance Management portion. This software builds OLAP cubes out of employee performance statistics, then feeds that information to a web-based front end for visualization and goal setting. I provided customer customizations and bug fixes for the old VB6/ASP system, while simultaneously working to create the new MVC-based C# solution. I also did Extensive ETL work to load the data warehouse and process cubes. Accomplishments included: - Created upgrade program to move both OLTP and OLAP databases to a new version while maintaining data integrity- Used MVC to create an interface for loading and system metadata updates- Created RESTful services via Web API to query OLAP cubes and update system metadata- Created and maintained Integration Services packages to move requested statistics into OLAP cubes- Created employee scorecards using AJAX-loaded Kendo UI controls

AIM Healthcare, now part of UnitedHealth Group, provides revenue cycle management services for US providers and payors. I worked mostly on a system to identify mispaid claims, both by targeted SQL queries and the use of Analysis Services mining models. The front end for this system was an ASP.NET site, later rewritten in C# as a smart client. Accomplishments included: - Worked with business users and analysts to develop requirements to improve claim refunding software- Added custom elements to proprietary ticket tracking software, allowing representatives to better serve individual payors- Optimized SQL queries to make searches performant against tables containing several million rows.- Maintained SQL Server Integration Services packages to transfer claim information to collections system- Created new administrative interface using Windows Presentation Foundation
