I worked at Boiler Room Coffee starting October 2020 until its closure in June 2022. When the shop reopened under new ownership, I rejoined the team in January 2023. Working at BRC has given me a sense of community and importance that I haven't experienced in other jobs. I have learned a variety of interpersonal and communication skills while I've been in this position. Problem-solving in a creative way comes with ease. My independence and team building skills have both sharpened as I've spent time here.

After working at Bark and the Bite, I joined the Ovation staff at the Guthrie Theater. I primarily worked as a Barista but often jumped into other roles such as catering positions, serving, and hosting. Working in this establishment taught me another level of formality and some experience in fine dining. I was also allowed to be flexible and help in whatever area was needed. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed in March 2023.

Due to the restaurant's closure, I lost my job at Bark and the Bite. It was a great job as it kept me busy and taught me new skills in dealing with the restaurant industry. Transitioning to a new industry taught me a lot about my ability to adapt and jump into a new environment. I was also offered the position of Lead, where I managed other line cooks on a daily basis. Bark and the Bite amplified my leadership abilities.

Before Boiler Room, I was employed at Whole Foods Market. I loved working here because of the team and leadership skills I learned. I worked as a “Boothie,” running the floor, handling returns and customer service. I left Whole Foods to join a local coffee shop near my house.

I worked for over a year at Caribou Coffee in downtown Minneapolis and was hired as a shift lead. I returned to Caribou when Freshii was closed down. I got along well with my coworkers and broadened my problem-solving abilities.

I began working at Freshii in the Mall Of America to learn a new side of food service.I was hired as a Team Member to later become a supervisor. After a month of working, I was promoted to shift supervisor and improved my existing skills and leadership abilities, running things like food prep and dealing with larger crowds.

My second job was at Caribou Coffee. I was hired as a Shift Lead and spent my time there building and improving on management skills that I had learned from previous places of employment.

I worked at Bruegger’s for my first job. I was quickly promoted to shift lead and developed leadership, team building, and practical time management skills.
