I serve as the Coordinator for SHORE UP! Inc.'s Office of Community and Family Development. I have worked with my agency in this capacity for the past10+ years. I am also a HUD Certified Housing Counselor and have served as a Certified Housing Counselor since 2013.

Day to day coordination and development of our free tax preparation program (VITA - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). Volunteer Recruitment and Training. Site Management, including the preparation, set up, delivery and assurance of compliance of services as outlined by the IRS. Certified Housing Counselor with certifications in foreclosure and pre-purchase counseling.

Coordination, organization and supervision for all aspects of Volunteer Tax Program site locations, from establishment of site(s) in the community to overseeing the site(s) operation during the filing season.Volunteer recruitment and retention.Marketing of tax site(s) in three lower shore counties of Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset.Provide a quality field work experience for student volunteers from 3 local colleges (Wor Wic, Salisbury University and University of Maryland Eastern Shore).Maintain relationship with local and SPEC Internal Revenue Service for obtaining site materials and other pertinent information.Monitor site(s) to ensure that an intake process includes the use of an intake sheet for every return, a quality review is being conducted, privacy is being maintained and the Site Identification Number is being annotated on each return.Adhere to Title VI by not denying service to anyone based on race, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability.Connect families with financial education workshops and follow up.

Inbound call center. Provided technical support to customers, coworkers and management for our web banking and financial software (i.e. Microsoft Money, Intuit's Quicken) services. Provided immediate feedback to Specialist I and management for quality assurance. Completion of reports for adherence and monthly statistics. Provided relevant feedback to immediate management for efficiency, problem reporting, and site enhancement.

2nd Tier call center management, including taking escalated calls, walking customers through troubleshooting and assuring call quality.

Handled escalated inbound calls. Statistical analysis for daily, weekly and monthly report generation. Monthly report generation and provision for upper management. Meridian Max and queue placement for operators. Filing and faxing.

Assisted supervisors in addressing envelopes, preparing mail, filing, answering telephones and various other office duties for the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Being a workship, I was able to work and attend classes simultaneously at UMES.

Returning Ronald E. McNair participant. First year: Conducted my own survey for a census on the 1995 Farm Bill. Compiled this data through SPSS statistical software. Combined statistics and other media to produce a report for presentation at the culmination of the program. Second year: Invited back. Study consisted primarily of library and internet feeds pertaining to Illinois agribusinesses and their opinions on government programs. Completed program with verbal and written presentation. Received grade A.
