Leads over-all execution and management of the programming and logistics aspects of the Maynard 200 national journalism fellowship program. She commenced this role by crafting and managing the program field survey shared with media professionals across the United States. She also continues to forge strategic collaborations with journalism organizations across the country, to gather expert insights to effectively shape and further expand the program’s execution and evolution.Directs the recruitment of fellows, faculty and mentors; supervises all logistics for onsite training including A/V/ tech set-up; catering; travel arrangements, memos, honoraria, etc.; and is now leading the conceptualization of the program's virtual training given the global pandemic threats.Directs the over-all strategic, multi-portal communications plan for the program.Conceptualizes, drafts, edits, coordinates press releases and coverage of the program for publication on the MIJE website and sharing with various participants.Manages all post-training requirements including interim and exit surveys; post-event coverage; monitoring the mentorship phase of the program; and submission of interim & final reports.Organizes, directs and co-moderates MIJE virtual events amid the nationwide shelter-in-place regulations to battle COVID-19, and also the ongoing America's racial justice reckoning. Alcazaren-Keeley led and also moderated several digital events, panels or webinars presented by the Maynard Institute that aim to provide relevant information, diverse perspectives, resources and support, within the contexts of the global pandemic and the movement for racial justice. She also continues to direct and moderate MIJE partnership digital events among them with long-standing partner Investigative Reporters and Editors [IRE]. This includes two upcoming MIJE sessions at the #IRE20 Virtual Conference, one of which Alcazaren-Keeley helped organize and will be moderating as well.
