I believe that “Go-Live readiness” should be considered from the first stage of the product development project plan. “Go-Live readiness” tasks should be divided into 3 main categories: before Go-Live, on Go-Live and the support period. It should include questions such as: Can we identify production issues before our customers? Can we monitor our product?Have we done security penetration tests? Are the support teams aware of all the new features? Have the appropriate KPIs been defined?The “Go-Live readiness” requires System/Security/Support/QA/Infra teams to be involved from an early stage. The involvement of these teams will allow us to foresee any potential delays in order to prevent them. Delivery and customer satisfaction go hand-in-hand with the crucial retrospective meetings held within an organization in order to learn from mistakes. These ‘Lessons Learned’ sessions must run on a regular basis, be the place where we learn and not blame; where we understand that mistakes are allowed but should not be repeated; where we raise concerns and explain how we manage to tackle major issues during the various stages of the project and after Go-Live. This Knowledge Share and Action Items implementation of Lesson Learned will ensure that a specific type of mistake will not be repeated.
