Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, develop curricula, and advise students in the cultural foundations of education.My doctoral dissertation research question was: How does the discourse of adolescents construct their understandings of gender and sexuality and how do they enact these understandings in the sexuality education classroom?I conducted research in the G8 classroom of a liberal church school in a North-Eastern city of the USA. I collected over 150 minutes of audio-recordings which were transcribed. I refined the transcripts and wrote participants profiles. My dissertation analyzes these students' discourse using a feminist, postmodern conceptual framework. From this research,a chapter of my dissertation was be published by Peter Lang in The Sexuality Curriculum: Youth Culture, Popular Culture, and Democratic Sexuality Education (Eds. Roseboro, D. & Carlson, D.) in April 2011.During the course of my doctoral studies, I collaborated with Rhode Island College faculty on the assessment of several educational programs notably at the American School of London (UK), and the Providence Public Schools Department (RI).
