  As a Clinical Extern at Ontario Shores, I provide direct patient care while applying my academic knowledge in a real-world mental health setting. Working under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, I assist in the assessment, treatment, and support of patients with a wide range of mental health conditions.My role involves:- Monitoring vital signs, and documenting health status.- Providing compassionate, patient-centered care, while advocating for the mental and emotional well-being of patients.- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, physicians, and therapists, to ensure coordinated care.- Applying critical thinking to prioritize tasks and respond to changes in patient conditions.- Supporting patients in crisis intervention and helping implement individualized care plans to improve mental health outcomes.This externship has strengthened my clinical skills, enhanced my understanding of mental health care, and deepened my commitment to providing empathetic and effective support to those in need
