Head editorial producer on CNBC's newest financial show, “The Strategy Session,” which is a daily half-hour show designed for smart and strategic conversation about the capital markets and current affairs. 'The Strategy Session' debuted June 7th, 2010. Prior to that, (and beginning work on 'The Strategy Session') I helped develop and produce CNBC’s one-hour special, “Meeting of the Minds: The Future of Technology”. I helped conceptualise, write, interview guests, edit this special, which debuted on June 22nd at 8pm on CNBC.

Wrote and produced television update reports for Bloomberg’s distribution feed all across the nation (Denver, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Columbus, etc.). Alternatively, I generated story/guest ideas for segments, interviewed guests, wrote and produced said guest segments for air for several shows. Also worked as a backup line producer in the control room.

Worked as a freelance writer, field/package producer and editorial producer most recently for CNN Tonight (formerly Lou Dobbs Tonight). As a field producer my duties included working closely with my assigned reporter for the day, researching our story, finding, interviewing and booking guests for our package, organising all necessary logistics for the bytes interview on camera (satellite shot, transportation, etc.), request relevant video and create graphics for the piece, work closely with the reporter to make sure the piece is accurate and succinct, edit the piece, marry all elements, and get it ready for air. As an editorial producer (Booker) I research, book and interview guests for the show; I prepare a detailed, but succinct, research folder with relevant facts and appropriate questions in a neat and orderly manner for the anchor.

Worked as a freelance editorial producer (Booker) and segment producer for CNN's American Morning, performing in-depth research and writing up extremely well-prepared question packets for both anchors.

Worked as a freelance writer, field/package producer, editorial producer (Booker) and segment producer for various television networks (NBC Europe, CNN International, IHT tv) and at The Times newspaper of London. Duties included writing and reporting on business and news stories, working as a duty producer, cutting producer, writer and segment producer and field producer conducting interviews, shooting B-Roll and set-up shots.

One of three producers responsible for putting together this daily, one-hour, live financial news show. The show covered top business, policy and international stories of the day, developed the stories and went in depth with particular issues. Duties included producing daily market wrap segments and others like Fund Watch, a sponsored segment called Building Your Portfolio, Beyond Business and our Friday Roundtable. Other duties entailed coming up with story ideas, researching and then booking and pre-interviewing the required guests and producing segments in the show. Good reporting and writing skills were required, as well as a sound understanding of financial markets and global issues. I also field produced on occasion.

As senior writer and backup producer on this live, two-anchor show, I covered business news stories breaking after the closing bell on Wall Street and before the market’s open the next morning. Also covered markets in Europe, Asia and Asia Pacific.

Responsible for making sure all show requirements were implemented efficiently and effectively. I managed the graphics department and its four graphic artists.

Wrote and produced business news updates for cut-ins on domestic feed (Headline News) and international feed (American Edition).

Responsible for compiling and creating world wide distribution data (i.e., quantitative weekly, monthly and quarterly marketing/media reports), prepared and analysed competitive analysis for product brands and networks, prepared quarterly network ad sales distribution (this document showed in detail, worldwide cable and household subscribers) for use by domestic and outer offices and all higher-level executive personnel in CNN’s bureaux globally.

Produced broadcast sales and marketing materials for use by sales staff, cable affiliates and hotel clients; cable brochures and the CNN Traveller magazine. Co-ordinated the production of on-air hotel scrolls as seen on CNN International. Organised the prestigious annual African Journalist Competition
