The principal objective of my role has changed over the last five or so years! In the past I was protecting and maintaining the 3x ISO & AS/NZS certifications of the geotech and ground improvement company, Menard. I was improving overall safety, quality and environmental performance, and effectively upgrading the management system. This included streamlining top-heavy procedures and forms, and also slowly integrating high level FSC requirements into the system. It also included training of project staff and being a role model for positive leadership on site and encouraging consultation with our Health and Safety Representatives within Menard. Today I am also managing the digitalisation workflow of our safety management system. The technology has overlapped with administrative and accounting processes. I have a dedicated Digitalisation Coordinator reporting to me, and we have achieved fantastic results, with more projects in the pipeline. My dedicated HSE Coordinator is working through the "business as usual" ISO items while my focus has turned to sustainability, social engagement and governance. Awesome. The 2024 challenge revolves around steering our Environmental Committee to meet the interim decarbonisation KPIs set for our Group of companies by end 2024. I'm hanging around until 2030. This is an exciting time. Collaboration and teamwork are healthy. The signal is for success. Love it!

Principal objective is the strengthening of the organisation's processes and system in line with our recently achieved Northwest Rail Link tender prequalification and the upcoming project wide waterproofing & hardrock tunnel lining package. We are aiming to achieve ISO9001 certification by end 2014 followed by AS4801 (WHS) shorty thereafter. I am also estimating projects covering basement tanking, waterproofing and floor finishing works in a variety of locations in the metro Sydney area, country NSW and the eastern seaboard. My current challenge is to develop an effective and transparent electronic estimating model to help increase the volume of outgoing tenders and the accuracy of the estimates. Another upcoming challenge includes the development of an effective cost control system to provide realistic data on how each project performs financially against the key cost items.

National role in which I established, maintained and reported on the certified HSEQ management system and HSEQ performance; facilitated in-house and external HSEQ training; carried out inspections and audits; represented the company to clients, government departments, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders; published regular alerts and communiques to share lessons learned; supported projects and tenders. Key achievements include national Federal Safety Commissioner accreditation, HSEQ certification of all sites in all States, reduction of injury performance indicators to below industry standards, establishment and maintenance of business systems, including Intranet and training management database.
