Kia ora, ko Oebe tōku ingoa!I am a recent graduate holding a degree in PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics). During the course of my degree I have developed a deep interest in international relations, political economy, and international industry & trade. I am especially passionate about the growing role Aotearoa is playing within the Indo-Pacific and what that means for our industries. As a major soft power in the drive towards a sustainable future, I believe Aotearoa has the capacity to lead a global movement where business, sustainable environments and preservation of natural endowments coexist in a harmonious fashion. I am eager to enter the workforce and play a part in shaping the future of kiwi and global industry.In addition to my coursework, I have actively engaged in extracurricular projects within the international political field. Over the past three years, I have been a part of a research team focused on analysing and advising the Delegation of the European Union to New Zealand on their public diplomacy efforts. Furthermore, in 2022 I was selected by the National Security Group of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to participate in kōrero evaluating New Zealand's recently published National Security Strategy. These extracurricular activities, undertaken alongside my academic peers, have taught me the importance of strategic planning and teamwork when tackling large and complex projects. They have also instilled in me a sense of confidence in my own abilities while recognizing the value of relying on the expertise of my peers.As an international student, I am currently enrolled at the University of Canterbury. I made the decision to immigrate to New Zealand in 2019 at the age of 22, driven by a desire to pursue a life beyond the confines of my familiar environment. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, including being away from family and friends, I have found a sense of belonging in Aotearoa. I am now excited to start the new chapter where I can apply the knowledge of my degree and gain practical experience which will aid me in my professional aspirations.
