maintain the Open Accessibility (A11y) Working Groups web space (http://a11y.org), as well as its specifications and documentation; administer its 7 emailing lists; participate in drafting specifications for Expert Handlers to enable persons with disabilities using assisstive technology to interact with specialized knowledge domain markup languages (MathML, MusicXML, CellML, etc.) so as to enable a platform-agnostic means of enabling assistive technology users to navigate and interact with specialized markup with consistency across platforms, assistive technologies, and third party applications.

I have served on the Protocols & Formats (http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF) working group since its inception; i have served on the WAI Co-Ordination Group as member-at-large; i actively participated in the drafting of Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG), the User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG), and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 1.0 (WCAG1); i am also a member of the HTML working group and the XHTML2 Working Group as well as a participant in the development of the ARIA specification; my work for the W3C is pro bono

Constructed and maintained a wide-area network to tie together AFB's regional offices; constructed and maintained an intranet so that all employees would have equal access to handbooks, guidebooks, requisition forms, reimbursement forms, etc. Was also responsible for setting up and maintaining organization-wide email and provided the AFB's webmaster with accessibility training. Represented AFB at the W3C from September 1997 through December 1998.

designed, constructed and maintained "CISter": Caldwell College's "Campus Information System" which included establishing both the college's public presence on the internet, as well as implementing a campus wide intranet; worked on strategies and implementation of online collaborative educational tools

volunteered as an interpretive ranger at Jockey Hallow National Historic Park, where Washington wintered his troops, most famously during the winter of 1778-1779 (meteorologically, the harshest winter of the Revolution). Duties included: manning ranger stations and providing first person interpretive tours of the Wick House (Gen. Arthur St. Clair's Headquarters), a farm-house built in the 1760s, the accompanying orchard and herb garden; "manning" the barracks on the Pennsylvania Line (which included demonstrations of the Manual of Arms, including the firing of blank rounds); and Washington's Headquaters at the Ford Mansion in Morristown, NJ; was often given the responsibility of manning a site in the park by myself or, less frequently, in conjunction with other volunteers. I also spelled full-time rangers in the visitors' center when they were on break or needed elsewhere in the park -- duties involved orienting visitors to the site, vending the materials on sale relating to the site, and ensuring the integrity and safety of displays.

Conducted 40-minute tours of Edison National Historic Site in West Orange, New Jersey; responsibilities included: managing tours of up to 25 people per tour, work in the visitor's center, curatorial work, and research. For my research project I prepared a room map of the floor plan and wall decorations for Thomas Edison's study in his home at Glenmont (which is part of the park), in an attempt to (1) document everything in the study, (2) prepare detailed wall and floor maps explaining the name, use and any trivia associated with any particular item in the room; and (3) cross-checking of objects in the study with photographs taken when Edison was alive, as well as with Edison's extensive financial records, so that the study can be returned to the state it was when Edison last used it. Was on of 12 chosen to attend a national Interpretive Ranger Workshop, aimed at encouraging a select group of seasonal rangers to become full-time NPS employees
