I have lead on our digital transformation, working with a team to develop an app for the NTX club which has greatly simplified our process for members to access training, workshops and events.

I am a research PhD candidate at the University of Essex, in partnership with the British Antarctic Survey and CEFAS, and my studentship is part of the ARIES Doctoral Training Partnership. I am researching genetic connectivity in Antarctic coral.

I am an assistant teacher for undergraduate and masters' level quantitative courses. Examples of courses I assist with include: Genomics & Bioinformatics (masters' level) and Statistics (undergraduate level), Intro to R, Intro to Python.

Interning (June-July):I interned to gain experience of working in an office and to learn about how an investment office works. I spent time working with the investment team, the client relationship management team and the operations team. I created an ethical-review report for 2 portfolios and wrote reports on potential investment situations. Compliance Assistant (October-December):I returned for three months to work on a large data project with the new Head of Compliance.

As an Education Intern I interacted with children of various ages at schools around the Mossel Bay area, South Africa. I lead class presentations about shark biology and conservations, performed dissections, collected data for research, and participated in a few shark chumming and towing trips. Furthermore I also assisted in writing, acting, filming and editing a children's education television show.

I worked with 2 classes of 25 young children, all aged between two and a half an three years of age. For the full term that I worked there, I learned about and was included in lesson planning, which included monthly, weekly and bi-term length goals. I was included in every activity with the children, and got to understand different methods of teaching academics, drama, and play.
