Nicola Jackson is a registered Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer. With more than a decade of experience in driving change in the construction sector, she has built strong relationships with academic partners, government agencies and the wider industry to build a network that is supporting a just transition to Net Zero for the built environment.With Strategy and Innovation expertise developed through attending MIT Sloan School of Executive Management, she has successfully held leading roles within a number of national and international innovation groups, particularly within the Scottish Government affordable housing sector, timber construction, the circular economy, modern methods of construction and in relation to the net zero transition. This includes as the former Chair of Offsite Solutions Scotland, a Board member of the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator project (to develop a new national model for the delivery of net zero affordable homes), the founder of BIM Group North and a member of the Construction Leadership Forum Net Zero working group.As the current Net Zero Projects Lead at Robertson Group Ltd, she is a part of one of the largest independently owned construction, infrastructure and support services businesses in the UK. She is focused on turning ambitions into action to address the climate emergency, through taking a systemic approach to business needs, carbon management, supply chain engagement, technology adoption and policy development.Nicola dedicates her free time as a volunteer member of Scottish Mountain Rescue, in which she is a Training Officer and Director on the committee for the Torridon team. She also has a volunteer role as the Sustainability & Equipment Officer for Inverness Backcountry Snowsports Club (a 250+ member club). This is a new role she created with the support of the committee, to engage others to be more environmentally responsible in outdoor activities.
