Due to past experience as engineer of many products at Peer 1 as well as a long history in the Linux and hosting world with many various roles, I joined the support team with the desire to assist my teammates in their future growth as well as provide the best support I could to our customers. Through my past experiences I assisted in the development of support for many previously difficult products and applications, as well as assisted in providing more efficient solutions to a vast number of common issues in the Hosting space.With new employees, I provided training and guidance in their growth as admins. Developed training materials and plans for testing and experience training, as well as acting as a subject matter expert and point of contact for their needs. In addition, these materials were also altered to provide a rich interview exam set, as well as established reasonable methods for understanding where new employees were at in knowledge - giving a more clear idea of where education should begin.

My role at Enova entailed postgres development. Working with issues within the financial platform and expanding the toolchain within the postgres database.In addition to the primary development role, I was tasked with utilizing my past experience with automation and administration to help improve and update the various tools that were utilized to facilitate overall database integrity and performance across an extremely large cluster. In this capacity I was primarily tasked with resolving, testing, and ultimately determining the stability of Skytools 3.0 (a replication system). In addition to this, I was tasked with producing a tool for distributing application-code plugins for Postgress across clusters and maintaining an equal status amongst all cluster participants.While at Enova, I also helped pave the way for moving towards a more organized development process that included a better methodology for submitting and working tickets using a more functional system (JIRA) as well as other atlassian tools to allow for more involved peer reviews and decentralized testing of code including the already existing unit tests and their outputs. This path was done in parallel to implementing a move to Git.

As a product engineer at PEER1, I held responsibility in building and maintaining the products that powered the PEER1 Hosting platform.I was primarily focused on maintaining the Server Beach linux applications, including Ubuntu/Debian/Redhat kickstart deployments, and the automated installation scripts and configurations for cPanel and Plesk that went along with the operating system products. In addition to the software, I held responsibility for their dedicated/unmanaged firewall product based on Juniper firewalls.With these responsibilities, I was tasked with building and testing the components of each product as well as the automation allowing for those products to be deployed on demand. I was also responsible for any training around the products that was required for the support and sales teams. I was required to also stay up to date and maintain a consistent update plan for each product.

Implement secure deployments of company infrastructure to protect data. Secure customer data against incoming hackers. Maintain uptime according to SLA. Started at the Help Desk, moved up to internal support of primary applications and servers hosting them.
