As a Penn State Graduate, Nia Smith passed on a legacy of advocacy as she was involved in numerous organizations that made an impact on not only Penn State Students but the local community as well. During her time at Penn State, she participated in 4 research labs gaining proficencies in various research methodologies. Through these experiences, her passion for investigating and crafting innovative techniques to dismantle the current child abuse crisis has been empowered. She was recognized as the Student Marshall for Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, graduating with Honors in both Psychology and Women & Gender Studies while pursuing a minor in Child Maltreatment and Advocacy Studies and receiving a certificate in Diversity Studies. Ms. Smith values demolishing ideas built off the good enough standard and establishing innovation in the Child Advocacy field. Her aura of empathy and well-spoken wisdom proceeds her. Nia fills her free time by prepping savory meals on Sundays and listening to whatever music fits her moods.addsomething about research
