Assisted the castings of Mg alloys. Main objective was to develop a corrosion resistant Mg alloy for automobiles. Conducted corrosion tests on various Mg alloys, with different testing conditions and durations. Prepared samples for microstructural characterizations and chemical composition analysis (ICP). Observed the alloys under SEM and investigated the chemical composition of various phases using EDS. (Industry project with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Canada Inc.)

Synthesized hypoeutectic Al-Si alloy based powder and hybrid composites reinforced with various boride particulates by using mechanical alloying technique and performed corresponding characterization investigations, such as XRD analysis and density measurements, and performed powder compaction operations.

Assisted the synthesis, casting, and extrusion of Al-Si-Mg alloys; prepared samples for microstructural characterization and texture analysis. Used optical microscope to investigate their microstructure. Conducted heat treatments on alloys with different Si levels and investigated their age-hardening behavior by carrying out hardness measurements. (Industry project with Raufoss Technology, a manufacturer of automobile parts)
