I previously competed nationally with the Calgary Aquabelles. I trained up to 30 hours a week while attending high school. During my time as a junior national athlete I was lucky to truly understand the dynamics of working on a team, how to take constructive criticism, and how to hold my breath for a really long time. At the end of my first year in the junior national level I won the award for "most improved" athlete, and at the end of the season and in my second year I won the award for "top overall" athlete.
