I am a statistician and freelance expert on capacity building and research with more than 25 years experience of which 14 years in Turkish Statistical Institute. Additionally, I have more than 12 years of experience in the consulting sector; specifically in EU, World Bank, and UN statistical projects in Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, Slovenija, Syria, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Malawi, Uganda, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. Besides my expertise in statistical domains such as Business, Agricultural, Labour Market, Social Statistics; I have extensive knowledge and experience in statistical registers and classifications. Since I graduated from a department specialised on statistical education, I have technical knowledge on research design and implementation (planning, survey tools development and preparation, sampling, data collection, statistical analysis, reporting and dissemination of statistics), data verification, quality control and capacity building in statistics.I have also provided many training sessions in the statistical area from technical implementation to decision making processes in-country offices of the United Nations, and the ministries in Turkey as the trainer of trainers and as a trainer directly to the end-users. In addition, I provided short term and long term SPSS based statistical training sessions successfully.In close collaboration with EUROSTAT and subject matter experts in Turkstat, I contributed to design the Upgrading Statistical System of Turkey (USST) Programme. Then with the support of our project staff and the subject matter experts of Eurostat & Turkstat, I administered the Programme for 3 years. I also contributed preparation of a 10 years strategic map for the harmonization of Turkish statistics to EU norms and standards.
