Oversaw all operations for two of the Quad Cities most successful radio stations throughout the 1980's: KIIK-104 (Later KUUL-FM--now 101-3 KISS-FM) and WOC-AM. The staff was tremendous. I got to meet President Ronald Reagan. Named Billboard Magazine Program Director of the Year (KIIK-104), 1983, which was also nice.

Gifted with the chance to program KSTT, the Quad Cities' legendary AM Top 40 station of the 1960's and 70's, and also help create 97-X (WXLP), which went on the air in 1979. Was named Billboard Magazine Program Director of the Year (KSTT), 1981. And I had the unique experience of not only meeting President Jimmy Carter but also producing a live radio call-in show with the President.

This was my first position in radio and I did pretty much everything, from news to on-air hosting, play-by-play sports to the "Classified Column of the Air" (no firearms or mattresses please). Add to that, I started learning voiceover and commercial audio production. Plus, I was the janitor. Not kidding. The truth is, I loved it all.
