Los Angeles

The mission of the Pedestrian Program is to develop and deliver pedestrian-related capital and operational improvement projects to create a safe, integrated, and sustainable transportation system which encourages active transportation.I assisted with the development of the city's 1st Safe Routes to School Strategic Plan by creating an outreach strategy for Los Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles Police Department and other stakeholders. Through active outreach and instruction, local schools will be more competitive to win state/federal funding for pedestrian safety and encouragement.

Redondo Beach

The Blue Zones Project™ is a community well-being improvement initiative designed with Healthways to make healthy choices easier through permanent changes to environment, policy, and social networks.I worked with the Cities of Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach to create and adopt health and environmental policies that align with the Beach Cities Livability Plan.

Redondo Beach

Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is the largest preventive health agency in the nation, and has served the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach since 1955. It offers an extensive range of dynamic health and wellness programs, with innovative services and facilities to promote health and prevent diseases in every lifespan—from pre-natal and children to families and older adults.I helped facilitate a 15-person committee to establish Walk-to-School programs for Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach Unified School Districts which helped the cities compete for state and federal funding.I managed the implementation of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a preventative health program to reduce childhood obesity, for Redondo Beach Unified School District. I also helped 2 elementary schools receive Bronze certification for their efforts in addressing childhood obesity.

Los Angeles

CRA/LA was dedicated to revitalizing, refurbishing, and renewing economically underserved areas of Los Angeles. CRA/LA operated dozens of projects in numerous localities, investing to create jobs, housing, commercial development and infrastructure.I maintained the planning database for the agency's projects and coordinated their timelines for their respective project teams.

Gardena

Behavioral Health Services (BHS) is a not-for-profit community-based healthcare organization providing substance abuse, mental health, drug-free transitional living, older adult services, HIV/AIDS education and prevention, and other related health services to the residents of Southern California.I conducted agency needs assessments and program evaluations for the outpatient program while providing treatment plans for the agency's outpatient clients.

I administered a study in Seoul, South Korea with 50 local families. Also, I utilized my fluency in Korean to recruit the sample group and conducted the qualitative interviews. Finally, I trained research assistants to analyze the interviews and enter the data into statistical analysis software.
