Providing a rigorous, engaging, and relevant 21st century education to all students; seeking to channel students into STEM-careers and interests to enhance our nation's pool of capable technology workers.Developed curriculum for “Engineering Foundations” and “Engineering Models”; these courses are dual-enrollment offerings with the University of Cincinnati. They are project-based and challenge students to solve engineering problems using teamwork, design principles, computer programming, and scientific & mathematical application.Created and help administer our FIRST Robotics team at Oak Hills. This incredibly authentic and engaging experience began with 5 students in 2011 and now is a full-year course of 30 students who compete in national robotics competitions while gaining invaluable engineering skills.Served as the instructor for a variety of chemistry classes; classes ranged from traditional Honors course to class geared to students with cognitive and learning disabilities. Developed a year-long curriculum for chemistry that integrated hands-on laboratory experiences with core concept development.Serving on leadership team at Oak Hills to improve science curricula with a project-based approach for a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM) Program of Study.Implemented a positive behavioral support system for classroom management that focused on teaching students becoming responsible for their own learning.Weekly seek to provide instructional leadership to our staff in the concepts of developing inquiry, project-based learning, cooperative learning, differentiated instruction, and scientific literacy development.Have demonstrated success with teaching students on Individualized Education Plans and participated in meeting to review and assess the IEP goals of my students.
