What I love: making magic happen - facilitating the creation of great products.I want to make the world a better place, and focus on projects that help humans. I want my work to be a force for good, building sustainable solutions and solving problems both within organisations and for consumers. I'm an experienced UX designer with a background in designing for various platforms including mobile, web, and app design. I love to focus on the end-to-end user experience, I approach design holistically, always keeping the user's goals in my sight. My specialty is in diplomatic interfacing between technology constrained implementation, management, and UX designers. I'm at my best taking in raw thoughts, hypotheses about user needs, requirements and business needs, and translating that into product visions, user journeys, and UX concepts. This puts me smack in between service design and interaction design, but who cares about labels?I know that even the best design in the world doesn't count for anything, if it doesn't make it into the market at the right time. For me, design is a balancing act between an ideal design and the real world constraints that make it happen. Freelance Ux DesignerNonni Creative Aug 2019 - Sep 2023Helsinki Area, FinlandI am working in a design collective called Nonni Creative. We still have room for new projects! Also, let me know if you are interested in learning more about working as a designer through a co-op in Finland.In 2020-2021 I have been mostly working with a startup called Cleverday. We've officially launched and are available in Finnish and English! There's a ton of work to do, but I am super exited about the concept (mobile quick guides for tasks in the physical world) - check it out! In 2021 I also started working with SmartBI as a UX/UI designer in their complex B2B machine learning related software projects. I enjoy the challenge of understanding different technical environments and supporting people in their work. These solutions also often work as building blocks towards a more sustainable future, by helping to reduce waste and recover from errors in complex environments.In 2019 I worked on a project for a large European fashion company, in a hybrid UX and Service design role. The role focused on internal processes and designing the tool that goes with them. Lead Ux DesignerComptel Nov 2013 - Mar 2016HelsinkiI lead the UX design for Comptel's Data Refinery (neΓ© Control and Charge platform, Eventlink product). I also ramped up UX design work in the Analytics and Big Data areas, in addition to which I have been the deputy team leader for the Experience design team.I was responsible for the redesign process of a host of products belonging to the platform, beginning from analysing the main concept of the product to the actual design of the day to day user journeys. The first phase of the redesign and implementation has been carried through, and we are now looking forward to the next main release of Eventlink, and designing the releases after that.Currently I have a few designers working on Data Refinery with me, in addition to daily collaboration with the rest of the team. I also work tightly with the business requirement and technical development teams, to make sure that the products are excellent, not only from the user's point of view, but also technically implementable and matching the strategic and business needs of Comptel.We have launched our first end-to-end redesigned product release, Eventlink 7.0, last year - and so far it has been a resounding success. I expect it to continue on a highly successful path, as it combines a thoughtful and evocative UX for the end user with a powerful engine that gets the job done better than competitors. -
