About Ojok Okello

I am the founder and CEO of Okere City, a futuristic and radical development plan to build the first sustainable rural city in Uganda. Over the past 15 years, I have been working with international and national development organizations (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, War Child UK) and public service (Makerere University) utilizing my diverse skills as a social entrepreneur, program manager, community organizer/builder, and development manager. I am an Ashoka Visionary Fellown and PfAL Fellow at the LSE where I attained a graduate degree in development management. In addition to being a YALI E/Africa Fellow, I became a Hubert Humphrey Fellow at Cornell University in 2023. As a rural futurist, my vision for the future experiment development models that can make life in the African countryside more meaningful, productive, and sustainable.
