As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Officer (MERL) for a project cutting across 9 districts of Uganda and one with Implementing partners, I play a critical role in designing and implementing comprehensive M&E strategies. As Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, I supported two projects implemented in Karamoja: 1. Integrated Community Agriculture and Nutrition Activity – (ICAN): a USAID-funded flagship resilience project focused on agriculture, food security and nutrition implemented in Karamoja, Acholi, and Kigezi Sub-regions in partnership with Abt Associates, Children of the World Foundation (COW-F), and Caritas Diocese - Kabale. 2. The Project directly empowered 2,430 youth through increased participation in policy and development processes, sustainable income generation and life skills training across nine districts of Karamoja sub-region.As the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator, i played a crucial role in ensuring the success and accountability of an organization's projects and programs. I took lead in developing and implementing M&E frameworks, tracking project performance, and evaluating the impact of interventions. By taking lead in data collection, analysis, and reporting, i provided valuable insights that guided strategic decision-making and helped the projects and the organization achieve objectives. I improved data audits, ensuring adherence to established protocols.• Conducted training sessions for project staff and community data collectors on data collection methodologies and the importance of accurate and timely reporting. I was in charge of recruitment, training and supervision of enumerators and other project data focal points.• Introduced participatory data validation sessions with project beneficiaries, fostering community engagement in the monitoring process.• Documentation: Regularly documented project success stories and project factsheet which highlighted project impact. I was also the lead with regards to project photography and videography. Impactful project photos and videos were routinely shared with the donor.• Collaborated closely with project partners, government agencies, and local communities to ensure a holistic approach to monitoring and evaluation.
