Due to early retirement by Chief Mike Okpala, Okechukwu and his colleagues soon found themselves in the job market again.Determined to make a mark in the film industry having discovered the Lacuna, he decided to take cinema to the homes of people instead of taking people to the theater. He floated from one menial job to the other and ended up a street hawker for so many years in search of funds to enable him pioneer the alternative format for film making through the home video culture. God smiled on him in 1992 when he got a referral to Chief Kenneth Nnebue, Boss of Nek Video Links. Their meeting and partnership heralded a global phenomenon known today as Nollywood with his production & NEK’s sponsorship of the pioneering film “LIVING IN BONDAGE”. Since then he's created, written, produced & directed so many exceptional content & has remained a force in deciding the direction of an industry that has given Africa a voice, employment to the teeming masses of unemployed youths.Okey’s personal objective is to always aim at Perfect Pictures and Perfect Sounds.
