Macanda is a professional with a diverse background in Visual Communication & Strategy, Business Development, and Socio-Economic Development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Medium from AFDA. Macanda had always shown a keen interest in business throughout his career. As his primary business (Film) shifted towards visual communications, Macanda's career began to focus more on Corporate Clients and Project implementation. Since 2016, Oko has dedicated his time to Business Development and has served as a consultant in the Renewable Energy and Technology sectors. Macanda is the Managing Director of the Zaga Mining crew and has over a decade of progressive and solid management experience in socio-economic development. Oko is skilled in various areas, including Local Economic Development (LED), Strategy Development, Primary Research, Deal structuring, Fundraising and Social Innovation, Stakeholder Management, Skills Development, and Business Strategy & Development. He has extensive executive and leadership experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors and has served on the board of Macadamia Agricultural Consortium South Africa (MAC SA).As an experienced project manager and business development specialist, Oko has implemented numerous successful projects and programs. He played a significant role in establishing green mining pilots, where he successfully raised funds and established links between rural communities, the government, and the private sector. These pilots resulted in the implementation of high-production and high-value agricultural programs within the Macadamia Nut Farming & Mining Rehabilitation Industries. These programs are endorsed by private sector partners, government, and Traditional Councils-led agriculture cooperatives.
