Ugochukwu is a dedicated development and public policy professional with a proven background in project management, policy analysis, research grants management and strategy development. With an initial three-year stint in sales operations management, business development, and customer relationship management, I transitioned into the development space four years ago. Since then, I have supported programming and implementation of education, literacy and health systems strengthening interventions working with leading literacy and public health INGOs in Canada and Nigeria respectively. My focus areas encompass managing research grants as well as programming for early-grade literacy, girl child education, maternal and child health as well social protection interventions, especially within the African context. Leveraging my academic and diverse professional background, I have honed my skills in project management, policy research and analysis, strategy and strategic planning, communication, grant administration, leadership and knowledge management and program evaluation.I am currently enrolled for a PhD in Anthropology (Political Economy Specialization) at Carleton University. However, I am open to policy research and strategy development opportunities with non-profit organisations committed to applied research and development interventions in low income communities and developing economies, preferably Sub-Saharan Africa. I am passionate about using my in-depth understanding of history, governance and development experience to creatively contribute ideas that address implementation gaps in aid programming in Sub-Saharan Africa.
