Further to the acquisition of Demirbank by HSBC, worked as the head of Planning and Organization to lead the merger process in order to mould the two cultures under the new HSBC banner. At the time of merge, Demirbank was 4500 and HSBC was 160 staff.Appointed as head of human resources (HR) in 2002 to lead a team of 70 under 5 group heads to cover all aspects of HR starting from recruitment to training, reward management and employee relations. Within this period the Bank grew to c. 7000 people.As EXCO (executive management) member, participated monthly meetings overseeing bank performance, contributing with HR report. As head and chairman of HR Committee and Disciplinary Committee summoned these councils every three months or when needed. Followed timely and successful implementation of relevant decisions taken during the sessions.Also participated in weekly ALCO meeetings reviewing market conditions.

As the international manager of the Bank, managed relations with international financial institutions, mainly to provide cash and non-cash credit lines.

As team member, and later, team leader of International Marketing Unit, tried to capture the largest market share of the commercial and financial flows between Middle Eastern countries and Turkey. Participated in the making of many of the then-pioneer international funding schemes.
