I teach biology and other natural sciences at the pre-school and teacher programs and scientific theory at the Masters program. I do research on evolutionary ecology of gobies.

I was teaching ecology, evolution and biostatistics on the environmental sciences program and ecology, natural sciences and outdoor mathematics at the pre-school and teacher programs as well as supervised bachelor students. I continued with writing and publishing scientific articles, coordinator of the sand goby genome project and being main supervisor of a PhD student.

Research projects: Local adaptation of the sand goby over the marine-brackish gradient and coordinator of the sand goby genome project (Principal investigator). I continued working on genetics and speciation in African lake cichlids. The effect of aquatic noise on reproductive behaviour on shallow water gobies (main supervisor of PhD project). I analysed data statistically, interpreted the results and wrote scientific publications. Methods used were aquarium studies in both closed all year around built by me and flow through systems, genome scans using SNPs and full genome sequencing.

Research project: Sexual selection in Pomatoschistus – nests, sperm competition, and paternal care – co-planning, performing experiments, and writing scientific articles. I co-designed experiments, analysed data statistically, interpreted the results and wrote scientific publications. Methods: Aquarium and field studies, microsatellite DNA parentage analyses. Teaching: evolutionary and fish biology, course leader and teacher at the scientific basic year – biology.
