Principal Procurement Officer
CurrentResponsibilities & Functions:- Assist the Deputy General Manager (Purchasing & Procurement) in contract negotiation and management - Evaluate the client’s purchasing needs in co-ordination with departments - Provide recommendations through market research and analysis- Assist in the maintenance of adequate inventory levels through the standardization of products and scheduled supplier reordering to ensure uninterrupted delivery of supplies- Coordinate with suppliers and end-users with respect to selection, purchase, delivery and installation of equipment - Evaluate inventory efficiencies with the Purchasing Manager and Supervisor, Stores - Assist in the review and development of purchasing policies and procedures (i.e SOP) and ensure compliance- Receive quotes/offers according to Company’s SOP, evaluate quotes/offers and make award recommendation for management’s approval- Place orders via Telephone/Fax/Internet - confirming price, delivery date, shipping charges in addition to sourcing on the Internet and Yellow Pages- Expedite outstanding deliveries and keep end-users informed- Co-ordinate product returns to suppliers and complete necessary documentation- Resolve invoice disputes in conjunction with Audit and Accounts Department- Good knowledge of Importation (Off-shore Procurement) of materials, tools, spares, equipment etc- Forward Purchase Order to vendor by best method, i.e courier, scanned attachment to e-mail, physical collection- Supply chain management- Ensure the compliance of SOAX Acts.
