Olaf is a registered architect in the UK and Germany and has worked for several reputable award-winning practices since graduating from Braunschweig Technical University in 1998. Throughout his career Olaf has gained comprehensive and diverse background leading teams through all project phases from feasibility studies through to completion. Working with S.O.M. and becoming Associate with them in the early years of his career Olaf gained a solid foundation for his now extensive technical background and understanding of construction. He is looking back at a large number of projects brought through reference design, design development, construction and practical completion. Those are including international and national A-grade commercial office and retail developments next to infrastructure projects.Olaf joined Grimshaw in 2009, taking a lead role as an Associate in a variety of projects. His work within large infrastructure projects is heavily focussed on integral solutions within the public realm, organising enjoyable spaces for functional and intuitive people movement. For the recent development of the reference design for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project Olaf was the technical lead responsible for the coordination between the five station precinct teams, engineers and stake holders. He continued his involvement with the project as a trusted technical advisor for Rail Projects Victoria during the tender evaluation and currently along the concept design phase.In the beginning of 2019 Olaf joined Architectus as Senior Associate. He continues his technical leadership and input for the reference designs of major infrastructure projects in Melbourne such as the Suburban Rail Loop and the Melbourne Airport Rail.
