Ibm Systems Exec: East And West Africa
I was redeployed to East and West Africa in 2020 to stabilise the business and drive growth. We created a Business Strategy early enough in the year, and we made some operational and structural changes geared towards putting more "boots" in front of our clients and prospects. We also deepened our working relationship with our Business Partners and Distributors geared towards achieving our agreed joint business objectives.… Despite 2020 being a challenging year, globally and locally ( Covid, Recessions and co), my unit, IBM Systems, East and West Africa, was one of the few EBUs that secured the target for 2020. We did 99% of our target and grew Y/Y by 2%. We are one of the few regions in MEA that grew and made close to our target. We also built an impressive pipeline that put us on track to achieve our target in Q1, 2021. ( update: we did 152% of our target and grew 7% Y/Y)... signed off.
Leader: Ibm Systems - Storage H/W And Sw; Southern Africa (Sa And Ca Countries Including Ioi)

I lead a team of Sales and Technical Sales Professionals.Highlights of my time in this role include - Working with the team to formulate an executable Sales Strategy.- Developed and Implemented a new Operational Structure to drive Focus, Ownership and Accountability.- Understudied the market Dynamics and made some adjustments. We initiated a review of our pricing structure, especially as it relates to giving the right pricing for the different classes of products, that empowers our Business Partners to compete better and still make a decent margin on their deals. - I ran a three Tier market segmentation 1. Business Partners lead; 2. Co-Sell with Business Partners, and 3. IBM Lead accounts.- One of the specific examples was leading my team and extended team members to one of the biggest IBM Systems deals (Consisting of Servers, Storage HW and SW, Implementation and Support over three years ) out of Central Africa (part of Southern Africa) in a most financially challenging country. From conceptualising the deal to the organisation issuing Letter of Award was in 1 Quarter.
