Accidental events cover seismic events, airplane crash, explosions and blast, missile impact, elevated pressure and temperature, flooding and extreme weather conditions.Included is also the study of beyond design events and design extension conditionsOn a regular basis, Scanscot participate in R&D projects in which the applied advanced numerical simulation methods connected to the evaluation of structures for accidental events are validated in round-robin and benchmark analysis activities where predictions could be compared with test data (e.g. pressurization, airplane crash loading, seismic events).Scanscot have developed forefront skills to efficiently utilize 3D analysis models in combination with advanced numerical simulations in the design and evaluation of civil structures and mechanical components at nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities.
