I had the privilege of contributing to the transformative "Satellite Imagery for Social Good" project, a collaborative initiative by the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) and Microsoft’s AI for Humanitarian Action. This project, implemented in Kenya and Nigeria, leverages AI-generated and human-verified data to drive social impact and sustainable development.Key Achievements:Enhanced Data Precision: Played a vital role in mapping 1.8 million building footprints and 19,131 km of road data in Nigeria. This high-precision mapping aids in effective urban planning and disaster response.Community Empowerment: Our work enabled local authorities and health organizations to better estimate and locate underserved populations, enhancing the reach and quality of health campaigns.Global Humanitarian Impact: Contributed to significant improvements in mapping accuracy and efficiency, supporting initiatives for public health, sustainable cities, and disaster resilience.Why This Project Matters:This project is about harnessing advanced technology to make a meaningful difference. By combining AI and human expertise, we are enabling better urban planning, improving healthcare services, and fostering sustainable development in vulnerable regions. Role: Provide graphical designs such as tutorial flyer, Greetings card, etc.

As an intern in HOTOSM alongside with other interns contributing quality data in openstreetmap. The Data Quality Intern review the quality of data, carry out mapping and validation, as well as provide feedback to mappers on HOT remote mapping projects including activations. Its involves learning and using new and existing OSM Quality Assurance tools to improve the quality of data in OpenStreetMap.The goal of the internship programme is to equip interns with quality mapping skills to provide and create maps and quality data.
