For many years, I have worked in Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration(ISKI) as a software developer and GIS Manager.During this period, İSKABİS(ISKI Infrastructure Information System) project was launched by me and couple of my friends.Although, it is a CAD based (Microstation) GIS system, it is an institutional project and based on Oracle Spatial database. İSKABİS project won several international awards. Success Awards in 2003, Baltimore/USA, and Excellence Awards in 2007, Los Angeles/USA. In the beginning of 2012, I left ISKI and set up our own company Odakent with my friends. It is a Research and Development Company. We wrote our first commercial GIS product, named Geospatialist. It is now being used by Azersu(Azerbaijan Water and Sewerage Administrator) company located in Baku. AzersuCIS project is based on PostgreSQL / PostGIS database. It is an advanced integrated CAD / GIS / geoweb / Mobile application.It has won many International awards in a short time. Some are BE Excellence Awards in Amsterdam in 2012 and Geospatial World Forum Excellence Awards in Rotterdam/Netherlands in 2013.
