The challenge: ensuring profitability, liquidity and especially financial clarity during a period of high growth, in which the privately owned company grew into a large, diversified maritime group.The result: after a bumpy ride the streamlined and profitable group became attractive to investors, resulting in a fractional sale of the business (2012).My primary efforts and results: ensuring solid financial and cash insight for decision makers in a rapidly evolving environment, as well as participating in business development (new ventures). Created closing and budget/forecasting tools and processes, while continually enhancing IT usage. Integrated new business with existing financial operations.

The challenge: ensure stronger financial overview of the group to support decision making and hereby a needed increase in profitability - optimize principal accounting processes.The result: did achieve the above, but critical mass on the customer side was not achieved, so due to lack of earnings management's strategic decision was a merger. My primary efforts and results: recreated validity in financial reporting and revamped principal accounting processes. Set up financial operations for subsidiary in Costa Rica. Managed due diligence and was instrumental in creating transitional budget for merged entity

Non-core revenues grew 77%, due to new business endeavors. Improved cash position partly due to enhanced debt collections. My primary efforts and results: Enhanced business results as part of management team. Project lead on extensive new ERP system. Used new ERP software to push collections hard.
